How to be a parent: go with the flow

Got a weekend full of family and friends, and we are staying away. I can’t be doing with lugging laptops around with potties and coats and calpol, and I can’t be doing with blogging on  mobile devices – this brief update is driving me to distraction!

Most of my journey here was by train, and I managed to do some chores and some writing using only a ’90s Filofax, a noughties notepad and a 3G connection.

My lack of wires and wireless allowed me to pretend I was a quirky retro beaknik. Alas, I fear it made me actually look like a middle age mum with technology issues.

I reckon in times like this it is best to go with the flow, kick off your shoes, and forget about tasks and challenges and what people think.

On that note I’m off to get the freezer food cooked  kids to bed, the wine poured, and the frivolities started.

All the quests and things to do, self imposed or otherwise can wait, don’t you think?

Have a fabulous friday
